Alice Springs.. smells like aboriginals.

So, on my way to Alice Springs in the heart of Australia, I spent the night in old prison that was rebuild into a hostel, at Mount Gambier.
That was wicked. Especially since I was almost alone there at night.. waiting for Freddy and Jason to come and get me !

'The Alice' how the locals call it, is such a gorgeous place, surrounded by hills and covered in a layer of red sand.
The aboriginals living in this city are a bunch of hillbillies though.. their main activities are drinking, fighting, more drinking and hanging around in the shadows under the trees.
Trying to scare tourists away.
Not to mention the weird scent they carry with them. It's so strong, you can smell them from quite a distance.
Basically they just gave me the creeps(I am referring to those over in Alice Springs.)
So much for that 'dreamtime'

I also went to see the rock while I was there, and by that I mean Australia's Ayers Rock, of course. On our way we even saw some wild kangaroos.

Our two guides couldn't have possibly been more Australian; nature-freaks, cowboy hats, no worries(the 'it's-only-a-snake' attitude)
Right.
We ended the day with a wonderful sunset -barbeque with heaps of champagne and the rock slowly changing colors in the background.
A young couple that was with us that day, were enjoying the view from a little bit closer and all of a sudden the guy drops down on one knee and pulls out a ring!
everybody at the table had tears in their eyes and was loudlyapplauding.
Now that's what I call a movie-scene-engagement..

Back in Alice I shared a room with a Taiwanese chick who made the funniest noise when she slept, so cute.Like she was eating air.

sunnies (sunglasses)
heaps (loads)

Ziet er allemaal super uit daar zeg, mega jaloers hier, hahaha.

Ja zag de 24e staan maar wist niet of dat feb. Of mrt. Was ;-)
Volgende week ben ik zelf op vakantie, 2 maart is charlene jarig dus kom ik weer naar het zuiden, kom jij anders ook ?

We gaan naar egypte, sabine heeft een nieuwe baan en kan tot november geen vakantie meer opnemen dus moeten we het er nu maar van nemen.
